The kids had another great swim meet last night! We are looking forward to the last "regular" meet against Coulwood at the Overlook pool next Tuesday.

I wanted to pass on some information about the Championship meet the following week. The Championship meet will be swum in 2 parts. The 10 & unders will swim on Monday at the Coulwood pool (address on website). If we are rained out, we will try again on Tuesday. The 11 & older swimmers will compete on Wednesday at Mt Isle Harbor (rain date is Thursday).

The rules for entries for the championship are different from a regular meet, so we need everyone to RSVP for the championship by July 7th (Wed) at the latest. This is earlier than normal. If you do not RSVP, you CANNOT swim at the meet. You only need to RSVP for the meet that is appropriate for your age. (If you have a 9 year old and an 11 year old, you need to RSVP for the 9 year old for Monday and the 11 year old for Wednesday.)

In order to keep the championship from taking forever, each team is only allowed to enter 5 swimmers per event (in addition to the normal 3 events per swimmer limit). Each team is also limited to only "A" relays. Overlook tries to enter as many different swimmers as possible in the championship so they can have the experience, but in order to do this, many swimmers may only be able to swim 1 event (only breaststroke, for example). It is also possible (but very rare) that there may be a swimmer who isn't able to swim at the meet because we have no spots left. For the RSVP, we need everyone to say if they are "available" to swim. The coaches will then put as many as possible into as many events as possible in the meet.

Please double check your volunteer status for the championship as well and make sure that you volunteered for the correct day.
