CHAMPIONSHIP MEET INFORMATION
WOW - I can't believe it's already Championship Meet Week! These meets are always a lot of FUN and full of TEAM SPIRIT! The Championship meets are being hosted by the Riverbend Riptides at their pool (2716 Winding River Drive).
WARMUPS
Overlook swimmers will warmup at 5:45pm so please be at the pool and ready to hop in by 5:30pm. Ready to hop in means suit on, cap on and goggles ready to go!
CONCESSIONS
The concessions stand will offer tons of snacks and candy and a $5 pizza deal - 1 slice of pizza, chips and a drink (soda, Gatorade and water). For a nicer food option there will be 2 food trucks. Concessions and food trucks take cards and cash.
- 11 & Older Championship (Monday 7/10) Food Trucks (menu attached):
- A Little Taste of Chicago
- Jasmine's Cuisine
- 10 & Under Championship (Wednesday 7/12) Food Trucks (menu attached):

PARKING
You can arrive and setup your chairs at Riverbend starting at 5pm. There can not be ANY parking in the grass/field by the pool. The one way streets get tight, Brighthaven and Smoothstone are nearby 2 way streets. Please just be respectful of the need for residents to navigate the neighborhood.

- Goggles
- Chair(s)
- Water
- Sharpie to write your child's Swimmingly number (or write it at home)
- Any food/snacks you don't plan to purchase from concessions.
WHAT SHOULD MY SWIMMER WEAR?
- Team T-shirt
- Team Suit
- Team Cap
- Goggles
HEAT SHEETS
- Overlook Hurricanes web site (overlookhurricanes.swimtopia.
com ): The heat sheets for the Championship meets will be posted under the event (YBDry Championship). - Swimmingly Fan: If you have downloaded Swimmingly Fan (the parent app with the navy blue icon) you can also find electronic versions of the heat sheet in the app. Just search Clubs for Overlook - Hurricanes 2023.
IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO DO BEFORE THE MEET?
Please write your swimmer's # on their LEFT upper arm with a Sharpie BEFORE the meet.
- After each race, your swimmer needs to show the timer their number.
- Timers will enter their 3-digit Swimmingly # into the app with their time.
- Even if your swimmer's number starts with a zero, please write all 3 digits to avoid confusion.
- It will be loud on the pool deck, so older swimmers who can remember their numbers should still write them.
- WHERE CAN I FIND MY CHILD'S SWIMMER NUMBER? Each swimmer's # can be found on Swimmingly Fan (the parent app with the navy blue icon) or in parentheses on the Heat Sheet next to their name.
VOLUNTEERS
If you are signed up to volunteer either night, please make sure your phone is fully charged. Swimmingly uses an app on your phone instead of stopwatches to time the swimmers. If you are volunteering as a Timer, Starter, or Stroke Judge at any point this season, please go ahead and download the Swimmingly app. The volunteer app (aqua blue icon) is different from the parent "Fan" app (navy blue icon).
If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
Have a great weekend & see you all at the Riverbend Pool next week!
